Abstract: | The works submitted to Art EDition on the theme of 'recovery' consider a condition of healing and the psychological foundation that underpins the consideration of recovery as both physical process and emotional journey. By juxtaposing the autobiographical diary entry and the photograph, the sequence proposes a path akin to exposure therapy, where the process of healing is interrupted by moments that challenge and reshape it. The initial coping strategies, in-and-of themselves benign methods that exhibit protective and stabilizing qualities, are gradually transformed by new insights and awareness. The photograph is considered as a place of recurring respite on emotional and visual sense. | ||||||
