Inspired by classic Choose Your Own Adventure books and Text-Based Adventure Games, DLTE Quest was developed as a playful approach to discover how the Department of Learning and Teaching Enhancement (DLTE) can more effectively prepare staff at Edinburgh Napier University in the development of their learning and teaching practice both now and in the future. In this presentation we will describe the development and testing of the game, as well as a detailed evaluation of how effective the game was at achieving its aims. In doing so we also aim to explore how such games might be used to both build resilient learning communities and also evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning support at HE institutions.
