‘Even or Perhaps’ is a scripted work of performance art made in collaboration with the artist and musician Jack Figgis. The performance was commissioned and staged as part of ‘Continue Without Losing Consciousness,’ an all-day event which took place at the Dundee Centre for Contemporary Art in August 2014. The event was one of a number programmed to accompany the exhibition ‘Continue Without Losing Consciousness’ and formed part of the nation-wide Generation programme, celebrating 25 years of contemporary art in Scotland. The performance consisted of a live recitation of a non-linear poetic narrative dramatized through my vocal recitation of the text and an accompanying live-percussive soundtrack and presented with visual elements 'collaged' from theatrical costume, English party-politics and the tools and practice of abstract-expressionist painting.
