This solo exhibition at the Glasgow Project Room, which took place in October 2013, was the outcome of a body of work that explored anachronism as a formal and literary device in painting and drawing. It consisted of water-based paintings, drawings and collages on paper mounted on canvas and wall-based collages of printed material.
A consistent thread running through the work was the idea of a conflict and dialogue between two modes of representing history, as seen in romantic historical fiction and dystopian science-fiction. The work juxtaposed the visual associations conjured by these two literary genres (in paintings, films and other visual analogues).
