Speculative Fictioning The GSASA Archives is an exhibition of archive material, ranging from 1927 to May 2024, installed amongst newly commissioned objects and items on loan from GSA archives. The exhibition is the culmination of a five month group research project by GSA students and staff exploring archive materials relating to the GSASA, student societies, student union, and organisations held at the GSA Assembly building.
Archive materials include zines, posters, photographs, society ephemera, prints, and objects. The exhibition brings together the archive materials, objects on loan, new works commissioned in response to items from the archive, alongside research group interventions and speculative fictions to consider archive in practice, missing archive, memory and archive, methods of archive organisation, and the critical significance of student societies.
