Dr Michael Pierre Johnson is a post-doctoral design researcher, with experience in ethnographic research and design-led approaches to inform product, digital, service and organisational innovation. Since gaining his PhD through the AHRC-funded knowledge exchange hub Design in Action in 2016, Michael has since been working in multiple projects of collaborative creative engagement, which in Jan 2019 led to him being awarded an AHRC funded Innovation Leadership Fellowship in the Creative Economy. His research interests are on making the effects and viability of Design Innovation approaches, and the preferable changes they seek to serve, more explicit within complex collaborative contexts through visual mapping methods.
Graduated in Product Design BDes (Hons) in 2008 at The Glasgow School of Art.
