Upon graduating from the University of Glasgow in 2011 with a first class honours degree in Classical Civilisation, Rachael Jones (née Egan), became a Graduate Trainee at the University of Glasgow Archives & Special Collections. This cemented her desire to work in the heritage industry, and particularly with archival records. She graduated with a Masters Degree in Information Management and Preservation from the University of Glasgow in 2013 and since then has had archive roles within the University of Glasgow including Business Archives Cataloguer (2014-2015) and Heritage Engagement Officer (2015-2017).
Rachael is committed to making archival records accessible to staff, students and researchers and sharing the fascinating stories they contain.
Rachael will be with GSA between May 2017- 2019 as part of the fire recovery project and will be cataloguing the institutional records of the School thereby making them more accessible to researchers.
