Abstract:

An artist book that explores how we translate birdsong into the English language. The book makes a correlation between the names of various mountains, with the implication initially being that this is where the birds have been observed, but which also suggests a link between the sounds made and how we have named land in similarly descriptive terms through the Gaelic. There are also subjective pairings gleaned from my own interpretations and experiences of climbing the hills listed.
