Glasgow has been a twin city with Havana, Cuba since 2002 and from that period the School of Fine Art at The Glasgow School of Art has been at the forefront of organising cultural activities between the two cities. Several members of GSA staff and students have visited Havana to make artwork and Cuban artists have taken up residencies in the GSA. Exhibitions of the work of Cuban artists have been put on display in Glasgow and 2015 saw the first Havana/ Glasgow film festival during which time Cuban screen writers and film directors visited the city to show and talk about their work in film. As a continuation of relations between Glasgow and Havana, and in solidarity with Cuban artists, the School of Fine Art is organising a postcard exhibition of the work of Scottish artists that will be put on display at the National Art School in Havana, Cuba in April 2016.
