Mafalda Moreira, is a design educator at the School of Innovation and Technology from the Glasgow School of Art. With a PhD in Design Innovation and Education from the Glasgow School of Art, an MSc in Innovation and Technological Entrepreneurship from the Engineering Faculty of Porto University, and a degree in Interior Design from ESAD-Escola Superior de Artes e Design (Matosinhos, Portugal).
Her professional background is international as an entrepreneur and consultant in the creative industries, adult education, and HE in the field of Design. Prior to working at the Glasgow School of Art, Mafalda held lecturing and tutoring roles at ESAD on Design Metholodogies and Design Thinking across a variety of design specialisms, and at Tias Nimbas Business School (Utrecht, Netherlands) supporting student development at Postgradaute level.
At the School of Innovation and Technology, Mafalda is the Academic Development Lead and lecturer of Core Research Methods and design Innovation.
Pedagogical methods for the teaching of social design innovation which bridge and borrow knowledge from other disciplines, and explore visual and embodied forms of learning. Positionality, collaborative creativity, applied ethics, indigenous knowledge, and social complexity.
