Waiting Room: Small Paintings by 27 Artists

The show in the waiting room is composed of small paintings hung on the wall at approximately the same height.

When we began collecting art, I was most interested in how big something was. If ever I had to choose between two paintings by the same artist, I always chose the biggest one.

Over the years we’ve come to look for a more nuanced experience. Paintings represent objects in material and psychic space; their presence transacts with the space they inhabit; and as we interact with them, we have distinct types of experiences.
