Abstract: | Public Permanent Commission for the University of Leeds. Exploring notions of temporality and lightness in the context of permanent enduring sculpture in a context of testing material possibilities. Introducing iridescent paint to the sculptural form with the effect of hiding and revealing form on viewing from different angles. Born out of conversations around with professor Gleeson (researcher at the University of Leeds) and expanding upon her research into iridescent paints by utilising iridescence on a painted sculpture. Beams of light bounce from upper and lower surfaces of the film changing in relation to the angle or view in order to create the illusion of lightness, flux and mutability in outdoor sculpture. | ||||
