Film screening and discussion with Ross Birrell and Raymond MacDonald (CCA, Cinema, Thu 25 Nov, 7pm) as the opening event for GIOfest XIV, the annual festival of Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra (GIO) hosted at CCA.

Screening included a selection of short film 're-mixes' by Birrell of sessions from GIO Zoom recording sessions over 2020/21.

This series of short films marked an evolution in the approach to editing the recordings from GIO Zoom sessions (ongoing from March 2020) from initial 'documents' of the weekly improvised sessions to 're-mixes' by Birrell of both audio and visual performances into entirely new moving image and audio works. This approach tied in with the theme of GIOfest XIV: Reconnections and New Directions.
