Abstract: | A film screening devoted to the joint work of director Eddie McConnell and composer Frank Spedding. Fiona Jardine (Glasgow School of Art) and Geoff Cox (University of Huddersfield) will discuss the progressive aesthetics of Weave Me A Rainbow (1962), made to promote the Scottish woollen industry, and A Kind of Seeing (1967), an abstract meditation on plants and landscape. Their presentations will focus on the creative explorations of colour and sound produced by McConnell and Spedding’s collaboration in the 1960s. | ||||
