Architecture and the building appear to have played a formative role in the development of the art of the comic. Since the very beginning of its history, and right up to its most up-to-date manifestations, the comic has employed both architectural forms and architectural techniques to structure its discourse. This article explores and discusses the use of space, enclosure, drawing, proportion and the human body in the long and intimate connection between the two arts.
