We Love Real Life Glasgow, is a Commission for Centrum Building, Queen St, Glasgow. constructed Sept/Oct/Nov 2016 - launching/opening April May in 2017) This is a sculptural neon work (3m x 2m) in the foyer of a city centre office building, currently under major refurbishment. This new work is currently in production /installation and will be launched in spring 2017.
The architects and owner had seen my large scale 13 part neon work, We Love Real Life Scotland, in the exhibition ‘Devils in the Making, Glasgow School of Art and the Collection’, Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow 2015/16, This work was installed for 6 months on the exterior façade of The Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art’s (GOMA) 18th century building. They liked this work and I used that work as a starting point to develop a new project for the context of the Centrum Building.
The work is visible from Queen St and has an unregulated public viewing access.
