Ida is a one-to-one durational piece, part of a series on Sigmund Freud’s case histories of hysterical patients. It is based on a reading that haunts, stories that return from the dead. You will nd me reading Fragment of an Analysis of a Case of Hysteria, from 1905, the famous Dora case. When you take your place in the analyst’s chair, I will close the book and host Dora’s ghost (also Ida’s). I will tell you my story, erasing Freud and returning the voice to the woman.
