Abstract: | This chapter discusses how key elements representing Scottish identity were displayed during triumphal entries staged in Scotland in the sixteenth and seventeenth century. Triumphal entries are presented as highly politicised events, where the urban space works with the decorations and the speeches to invent a display an image of Scottishness. | ||||||||||||
