Abstract: | Something About A Word is a permanent public artwork located in the Atrium Space of Eastgate, Bridgeton, a building that houses Glasgow Community and Safety Services and their 500 strong workforce. It was commissioned by Clyde Gateway, Throughout the year long research stage I met with 100 people who were either involved in the design and construction of the building, lived local to it, or would be based in it. Each contributor was asked to write a sentence about the word 'blue' which were then cut from 12mm mild steel and suspended over three floors. A limited edition publication featuring commissioned texts by anthropologist Tim Ingold and artist Peter McCaughey was published to document the project and gifted to contributors of the artwork. | ||||
