Biography
Steve has contributed papers to a number of journals and International conferences, including the Association Typographique Internationale, the Design Research Society, the AIGA, and the World Design Congress. He has been a visiting lecturer at institutions in Europe, India, China, and the USA. Steve has been a regular contributor to Eye: The International Journal of Graphic Design and has contributed to The Graphic Design Reader (Bloomsbury 2019) and the Phaidon Archive of Graphic Design (2012). He was the recipient of the 2019 North Lit Prize for Creative Writing.
Research Interests
Steve's current research interests focus on the relationship between Dada typography and concrete poetry and how the mapping of practice and creative writing may be used as tools for understanding graphic design history.
