The workshop series follows Theresa May’s visit to India in November 2016 which coincided with the publication of The Future of Design Education in India by the British Council in partnership with the Indian Design Council and the National Institute of Design. This first stage was focussed upon institutional visits within Delhi and Bangalore and culminated in a two-day workshop at NID in Ahmedabad that focussed upon design futures. The second series of workshops took place in January 2018 in Delhi with a theme of Learning and Teaching. The third and final series took place in NID Bangalore and addressed research and post doctoral study. The findings and recommendations of the report are due to be published late 2018.
