Stephanie is a design researcher working across health, care, and wellbeing, with a focus on digital health technologies. Her work explores how emerging technologies - including artificial intelligence and virtual and immersive technologies - can be designed to support autonomy, connection, and meaningful participation in health and care contexts. Using participatory and design‑led methods, she collaborates with people with lived experience, clinicians, researchers, and innovators to engage with complex challenges and develop inclusive, evidence‑informed design approaches.
Her research is characterised by a strong interest in exploring and combining methods of engagement to support dialogue, reflection, and participation in research.
Stephanie is completing a PhD in Product Design exploring the use of virtual reality in brain injury rehabilitation, and holds an MSc in Psychology. She teaches within the School of Innovation and Technology and is involved in research linked to the Digital Health and Care Innovation Centre (DHI).
