'Cartlann Ghlaschu Gaoth Dobhair' is an archive project I began during a residency organised by the university in Gaoth Dobhair in 2023. The archive visualises and validates the histories and experiences of the Glasgow Donegal diaspora and includes photographs, videos and audio recordings in both English and Irish.

Part of the motivation for the creation of the archive is to provide a more balanced and informed perspective on the past, to not only enable current and future generations to examine and understand their history, and those who contributed to it - but also to ensure that silences long haunting archives may begin to be heard.

As part of this project I established a research/working connection with Prof. Breandan McSuibhne from the University of Galway and Nail Wheelahan and Laura Kelly from the University of Strathclyde and we have continued to meet and discuss developments re the archive.

THALL UDAÍ / OVER BY is the first public output of the archive with more expected to follow in both Scotland and Ireland.
