Abstract:

Studio 58 was an exhibition that focused on the work of 53 women artists who either studied / or taught at GSA from 1939 until the present day. The exhibition which was curated by Dr. Sarah Lowndes in cooperation with Jenny Brownrigg, Director of Exhibitions at GSA, included loans from the collections of Glasgow Museums, The Hunterian Art Gallery, Glasgow School of Art Archives and Glasgow Women's Library. Artists included, Christine Borland, Cathy Wilkes, Karla Black, Claire Barclay, Joan Eardley, Nita Begg and Bet Low.

A publication, symposium and film screening accompanied the exhibition.
