Abstract:

Work in Progress exhibition from members of the SofD
–S–H–O–P–P–I–N–G– research cluster.

Additional Information:

Work-in-progress produced by the research cluster focussed on vacant commercial retail units on Glasgow Sauchiehall Street. The venue itself was once an active retail space, and is currently for sale. This meta-context, within a street undergoing dramatic transformation, with a literal 'shop-front onto the clusters point of study provided an excellent opportunity to locate the work in the public realm.

The work of the cluster members sat alongside site models of vacant units and their host buildings, and proposals for reuse of spaces along the length of the street. These were produced by the ID studios at GSA.
