Abstract:

There are a wide range of languages and technologies for modeling and animation of virtual humans. Here, we review current state-of-the-art virtual human animation standards and present our work on language visualisation (animation) in our intelligent multimodal storytelling system, CONFUCIUS. We
provide an overview of the system and the technologies employed in the animation engine. We discuss several issues in human animation, such as multiple animation channels, space sites of virtual humans, and object manipulation. Finally, we conclude that introducing linguistic knowledge provides more intelligent multimedia storytelling.
