Solo exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow, commissioned by Glasgow Museums, running from June 23, 2022 - January 29, 2023. The site specific installation combined videos, sculptures, scent drawing on the histories of trade and exchange of beaver pelts and castoreum in the area where the artist grew up and this city where she now lives. The Gallery of Modern Art was home to the Royal Exchange, where anything traded would have passed through at one time. North Bay Ontario has strong connections to the fur trade past and present, and is home to the largest Fur Harvesters Auction in North America. A starting point for the exhibition was Castoreum, a byproduct of trapping from the castoreum glands of a beaver, used as a material in perfumes and flavours, The show included sculptures; found objects; film recordings and sound work from residencies in Canada; scent; and a whole tree ethically sourced and prepared by Glasgow-based environmental community GalGael.
