Invited presentation and screening of works for documents 14, for Seminar 2018: No Commons Without Commoning

L’erg, école de recherche graphique, est une École Supérieure des Arts (ESA), Brussels.

In this talk Ross Birrell will reflect upon multifaceted projects commissioned for documenta 14 (Athens and Kassel 2017). The projects were based upon long distance equestrian journeys (Criollo; The Athens-Kassel Ride; The Transit of Hermes) and recitals of classical music (Symphony of Sorrowful Songs; Fugue; Lento) and will be discussed in relation to the thought of Michael Hardt & Antonio Negri, Donna Haraway, Michel Serres, Rosi Braidotti, and Mikhail Bakhtin and considered in relation to forms of collaboration, collectivity and co-existence.
