Abstract:

All of Czech film maker Ester Krumbachova's fairy tales translated into English. Krumbachova was banned from working in film from 1970 to 1991. Unable to work in cinema she turned to writing, in particular her very dark fairy tales in which human desires and motives are put under enormous pressure by the political systems in her fairy tale landscape.
