Abstract: | This paper proposed a new intrerpretation for the statuary decoration on the facades of James V's palace in Stirling Castle. It suggested a visual and symbolic parallel between the tarot cards 'trionfi' from northern Italy and France, and the organisation of the facades and the appearance of the statuary. |
