Abstract:

This chapter analyses the development and possibilities of contemporary painting through the lens of the discipline, approaches to interdisciplinarity and what this means to painting and also opens up the question of indisciplinarity and its potential impact methodologically on the process of painting.
The chapter discusses these approaches at a philosophical level, but also engages with their impact upon and through current teaching practices within painting.
