A consideration of the complexities and multi-farious possibilities of art in the public realm, including a reflection on what constitutes 'public-ness', from the perspective of the visual arts curator / commissioner.

The lecture included historic and recent examples of art in the public realm and a reflection on the difference between a ‘public art’ that embraces, responds to or acknowledges its public, and that which should more accurately be considered as ‘outdoor’ rather than public.
