This paper extends from my current research and the paper presented for the the VII conference in Rome, where, extending from my original thesis, I have extended interdisciplinary collaborations researching how the phenomenological manifestation of colour encourages an engagement with the sites of our ‘intimate lives’ - and subsequently for our experience of being. I continue to suggest that this is achieved through the absence of subject in colour and its presentation simulating the ‘indeterminate immediate’ of our being (Heidegger) . Colour allows us to locate objects in space and ourselves in the world and to retrieve objects, events, thoughts and emotions from memory.

The methodology insists on synthesis and interdisciplinarity across visual arts practice, psychological and philosophical treatise on colour perception specifically in relation to Husserl , Merleau Ponty / Ricœur and the phenomenological functions of Daydream

It is my preposition that there are intersections of psychological and philosophical knowledge relating to phenomenological perception of colour which are key to the treatment of post-traumatic stress. To this end I am looking to collaborate with psychologists in this conference who are interested in researching shared terrains. In an attempt to answer the research question.

‘Can a digital audio visual tool for the treatment of PTSD be developed via interdisciplinary research methods to assist in the suspension of disbelief in order to assist in the treatment of deep Trauma?’

I am pleased to say Professor Gordon Turnbull who has been working on PTSD since the Lockerbie Air Disaster in 1988 and psychiatric advisor in the field during the Gulf War . He has conducted the first ever debriefings of combat victims in the Lebanon and developed new treatment strategies for trauma.
Currently working at Capio Nightingale Hospital in London and the Ridgway Wroughton. Has agreed to collaborate with me to develop a digital treatment for PTSD.
