This CENCIA funded Visiting Artist programme, took place in Atlanta, USA, at various points between February 9th-April 24th 2009. The CENCIA (The Center for Collaborative and International Arts), Visiting Artist programme brings together creative writers, visual arts, composers, musicians, actors and playwrights, filmmakers, and scholars engaged in arts-related research. Its aims are to support collaboration and international arts programming, bringing artists and scholars from around the world to share cultural arts and heritage. This project involved a collaboration between artists Paul Cosgrove and Professor George Beasley as Principal Investigators, undertaking scoping research to determine a process for consultation and collaboration through which to inform the development of a new public space within the city centre of Atlanta, at the intersection between institutional and public space.
