| Abstract: | Mackintosh is a short film following the work of cleaner Anne McInally who cares for the contents of The Huntarian Gallery building including Mackintosh House, a replica of the Scottish artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh's family home. This short film made on a 35mm motion picture analogue camera resulted from research undertaken as part of my exhibition and research project Assembly, a multidisciplinary body of work addressing the wide ranging processes and stakeholders involved in and informing the making of a creative work. The film highlights the intimate connection between Anne and Mackintosh's work, alongside broader questions around cultural identity, institutional infrastructure and feminist methods of care, gendered work and ways in which audiences engage with cultural heritage. |
