Screening curated by Caireen Stuart as part of a programme of events for Mayday 2025 in Castlemilk, Glasgow. A team of artists, writers, musicians and filmmakers worked with the Food Solidarity Souperheros Community Group in Castlemilk. The events include: A workers theatre event; a talk and exhibition by the Glasgow Housing Struggle Archive; and a film screening. The programme of events is also a nod to Glasgow’s Mayfest (1983-1997), which organisers hope to emulate with a programme of theatre, film and archival exhibition.
The screening, Made in Castlemilk, focused on films centred on Castlemilk, Castlemilk communities, and on acts of resistance by residents.
