An album of recordings of electronic music, made over a period of two years.
The title comes from the enigmatic signs that I often see, at certain points by the side of the M6 motorway, when travelling up and down the country. They bear the legend “Buried structure” followed by a reference number. Although it’s not entirely clear what they refer to, it’s likely to be some electrical or drainage services that run beneath or alongside the road. The stretch of motorway where they are most apparent is over the high moors of Cumbria. This is a similar landscape to that of my home, which informs so much of my practice. In this context, the term ‘buried structure’ leads me to imagine what exists below the surface. The geology, and mining of it, our sense of self and how we examine it, and the structure of composition.
