Research Profile

Katy West first joined the Glasgow School of Art staff in 2008 and is currently Cross School Course Leader programming the Year 1 Cross School Course and Year 2 Study Day. She is Visiting Lecturer in Design History Theory, lecturing on subjects relating to curating, craft and design, and supervising dissertation and thesis writing. She has previously lectured within Product Design.

She has experience as an Independent Curator specialising in craft and design subjects. Research outputs include exhibitions, conferences, commissioning projects, live curated projects outwith the gallery space, touring programmes, organising local and overseas residencies, research by design.
