Research Profile
I am the author of two books, Scanned Clean: (Re)Reading the Novels of Michael Marshall Smith in the Digital Age (Subterranean Press, 2022) and The OA, a critical study of the Netflix Originals TV series (Auteur/LUP, 2022).
I am currently working on a critical study of the work of Danish film director Nicolas Winding Refn, due to be submitted to my publisher Auteur/LUP in October 2022.
I have contributed chapters to the books on the directors David Lynch and Mike Leigh and the publisher Marvel Comics as well as article to journal issues on Folk Horror, Lynch and Marvel.
I have presented conference papers in the UK, US and Canada on various aspects of popular culture including digital comic books; set design in the tv series Inside No. 9; superhero costume design; Folk Horror, mysticism andmore...
