Exhibition with Alberta Whittle, Michael McMillen and Mitch Miller.
Through multimedia installations, sculptures and drawings- and text-based illustrations, the exhibition explored questions about the modern city, hidden communities and cultural identity. As its centrepiece, a detailed and atmospheric miniature depiction of a Los Angelos slum (By Michael C McMillen) from Glasgow Museums’ collection was displayed for the first time in 15 years. Mitch Miller’s community engaged artworks explored local hidden communities in Glasgow, and Alberta Whittle’s practice questioned postcolonial power as articulated through memory and history.
