In this presentation, we discuss ‘Curriculum Conversations’ - a student and staff partnership informing curriculum review, development and co-creation in the School of Design towards implementing the Common Academic Framework. This project has introduced a new role – The Student Consultant for Curriculum Enhancement - who works in partnership with the Academic Lead for the School of Design. This partnership has enabled a rich set of discussions about what the creative curriculum means to staff and students and how we can enhance it. The purpose of our presentation is to explore how we co-created a model for ‘curriculum conversations’ in the School of Design and how our peer-to-peer discussions around the GSA Graduate Attributes informed this. We also developed methodologies for enabling open environments and approachability to facilitate student feedback. We reflect on how we enacted such conversations with different constituencies within the staff, student, and alumni body. We offer insights into the relational and dialogical nature of the model as well as reflections on evaluating the strengths and potential challenges within this partnership process as an authentic exploration of co-creation and relational pedagogy.
