Symposium Title: The Threads of Research: Weaving Narrative and Understanding Through Historic Textile Collections

Topic: Textile archives in libraries and museums can provide scholars with a wealth of information which inform pedagogical and creative practices. This very special RAD Hour “virtual mini-symposium” will feature lightning talks from an extended network of textile scholars, students and GLAM practitioners who will demonstrate the richness of textile research. From business consumption, to fashion, labor moments, the garment industry, to gender and area studies, textile archives can be presented in conjunction with other histories to weave enhanced meaning into narratives thus highlighting their historical significance.
