Abstract: | The collected works feature a series of typographic compositions exploring concrete poetry within digital spaces. Accompanied by an artist statement, this collection of works considers emerging opportunities to take concrete poetry and typographic writing off the page and situate within online and digital spaces. The key piece reflects upon Beatrice Warde's famous broadside 'This is a printing office', written in the early part of the 20th century to remind printers and compositors of the geography of their special calling: 'Friends you stand on sacred ground'. In response the works consider the new spatial arrangements of practice: dispersed, deregulated, democratic and the fluidity of outcomes. Textshop Experiments is an open access journal that aims to extend the work of Greg Ulmer and to foster experimental works that invent, operate in, or analyze the apparatus of Electracy. It welcomes innovative and hybrid works in new media and original scholarship on reading and writing, rhetoric, and culture. | ||||
