Abstract: | This text theoretically charts the influences and aesthetic decisions within my interactive practice (spanning 2001 to 2009), the paper covers literature, folklore, visual semiotics and interaction design. At its conclusion it argues the case for deploying a depowered or dissonant interaction paradigm as a way to elicit participant attention, immersion and emotion. | ||||||
