For their Now Showing program Cinenova working group invited me to present my video Circuits of Bad Conscience alongside two films by other artists that I selected from the Cinenova Collection; a collection of 500 titles made by women, including experimental film, cinema, artists’ film and video, documentaries and educational videos, made from 1912 to 2001. The screening included The Hired Hands by Judy Jackson produced in the UK in 1985. This documentary takes a critical look at the conditions of employment for the one in three women who work as typists, receptionists, clerks and secretaries in Great Britain, and examines why women in these positions are often underpaid and exploited. Alongside Delilah by Tanya Syed produced in the UK in 1995. This film is a kinetic meditation on female expressions of power and desire. A chiaroscuro of tension and release.

The Cinenova: Now Showing programme of screening events began in March 2015 and runs monthly. This series intends to materialise relationships between contemporary artists’ moving image practice and the feminist organising legacies present in the Cinenova collection.
