The concluding chapter to a book about the landscape and physical environment of our cities and regions today and tomorrow. The book itself contains fifteen essays by leading thinkers and practitioners assembled into three sections ‘Learning from Thought’, ‘Learning from Place’ and ‘Learning from Action’ that in some way reflect the manner in which those who work with and intervene in the landscape go about their work.The chapter reviews the lessons learned from the fifteen essays and proposes a ten point manifesto for city region environments at the beginning of the 21st century.
