Abstract: | In this talk Dr Peter Lovatt worked with Dr Tara French to explore issues around why people find it difficult to improvise through movement. Workshop participants were led through several movement improvisation exercises and insights were captured in relation to some of the challenges and opportunities of bodily improvisation. Concurrent is a network of key researchers and leading improvisers to share approaches and theoretical insights, apply psychological understandings to collaborative performance and consider how performers share or construct meanings at the cutting edge of contemporary improvisation. Through public events and online dissemination, the network aims to inform and involve a wide range of creative improvisers, academics and audiences interested in transcending disciplines and genres. | ||||
