In 2014 Glasgow Design duo Briggs & Cole commissioned Glasgow based designers and artists to design a a wearable silk scarf which responded to Glasgow and the city's music legacy. ‘No Line No Wave’ was exhibited at The Pavement Gallery from December 2014 - January 2015.

My interpretation of the Brief was inspired by associating music and the experience of a space. The Barrowlands epitomises my own distinct memories of live music and resides in my heart as with it’s iconic facade one of my favourite buildings.
In particular, I adore the faded gradeur of the neon facade in daytime with the pastel blue grey (reminiscent of the Glasgow sky), the industrial shutters, grey marble and fleshy terrazzo cladding . The tones also play with my perception of the Barrowlands being a place of subtle, understated romance. I imagine the many ‘lumbers’ of days gone by at the Dancing, the intimacy and heightened shared emotions of a gig, the design of the diamond panelled curved ceiling allowing for auditory phenomenon. The Barrowlands, for me radiates energy and personality both inside and out, and equally is as beautiful in day as it is in all its glory at night.
