An assessment of how in the space of little more than twenty years, the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh emerges from a British arts and crafts tradition, embraces the short lived Art Nouveau movement, favoured so extensively in mainland Europe, and finally ventures into the new world order of 'Art Deco'.
