Abstract: | The book presents an introductory text about the latest scientific evidence on ageing drawn from the cross-council New Dynamics of Ageing (NDA) programme, the UK's largest research programme in ageing. The chapter provides an overview and discussion of the contribution of four of the NDA projects whose focus was on food, nutrition and/or the food environment in a variety of settings, including the mappmal 'hospitalfoodie' project in which GSA was involved. Hospitalfoodie is an evidence-based demonstration prototype for food management and nutrition monitoring co-designed to address issues of malnutrion in older hospital patients which has been found to have a wider application to other groups and settings. | ||||||
